The Circle of Responsibility
Isn't it interesting the way we live our lives. We are born completely dependent upon other people. We have little to no responsibility for ourselves. As we grow older we assume more responsibility for ourselves, for our actions, for our bodies. Eventually we are rather self sufficent, self responsible individuals. We even move out on our own, feed ourselves, pay our own bills, wash our own clothes, and take responsiblilty for our own decisions. Then somewhere in there we decide to join up with another self sufficent person and more often than not we get ourselves a brand new person who is responsible for nothing and we are responsible for them. We went from being responsible for nothing, to learning to be responsible for ourselves, to BAM responsible for someone else. What a lesson in selflessness parenting is. And chances are if you live long enough that little person who you physically cared for when they couldn't do it for themselves, will be physically responsible for you. A nice little circle...
